Plasti Dip on E92 328i, Qustions!
Hello,
I have made appointment to do the Plasti Dip on my 328i coupe, with the Satin White color. I was thinking about putting 3M black vinyl on the roof, but i wanted to see how it looks like as all white. I wonder if there are anyone around, that has plasti diped their car, and wanted to know how to maintain it like new condition. I read some post that says bird poop can destroy the dip. And about the car wash.... Do i have to do hand wash with soft towels in stead of going to the automatic car wash places? Last edited by DaytonaBMW; 04-19-2014 at 05:17 PM.. |

There are many threads related to vinyl and dip ,just do a Vinyl wrap is better especially for the whole car but dip is fine for smaller jobs... Vinyl is much more expensive if you get it done by a shop.

Vinyl is smoother and can be more flossy than dip is.
Unless your looking for matte finish n Dip has an eggshell type finish Dip will be stuck in your body gaps where it oversprays which can be a bitch to remove. Vinyl peels off 100% clean Vinyl costs $2000+ though |

so its pretty much vinyl > dip.
i will give a try on the dip and if i don't like it, then i will just take it off and maybe go for the vinyl. I kinda wanted matte white, and the pictures or videos that i have seen as matte white dip, it looked descent, and i liked how it was like a eggshell. Is it possible to go through the car wash with it or hand wash? |
