Help bluetooth
Hi guys I tried posting in bluetooth section didn't get many answers I just wanted to know if i can use any tcu in my car. I have a 06 330xi without Bluetooth and would like to add oem bluetooth, no aftermarket stuff. So I found a few tcu on eBay and was wondering if it had to be any special year or version to work with my car.

Like I said in the other thread, you need to cross reference the TCU or MULF part number against your Car VIN in real OEM. Unfortunately many part numbers probably will work in your car.
In my case I bought a MULF2 from a 2008 528i and put it in 2007 328iT. I typed in my VIN in RealOEM and then made sure that the part number of MULF was listed. If you do some searching here and on google you will find many posts on bluetooth retrofit in E90. It's not all that expensive to DIY, just under $200 fro MULF2, Bracket, Mic and Bluetooth antenna. If you are patient you can find most of the items on eBay. Just make sure that you don't overpay by cross checking prices with an online retailer like Tischer BMW. Eventually I'll retrofit 6FL and that would be about another $150 in parts from Tischer. I coded everything myself. Last edited by slupie; 04-22-2014 at 09:09 PM.. |

That's going to be an expensive mod.
Might be so much better off getting one of these and installing it in a way that isn't noticeable. http://www.amazon.com/Kinivo-BTC450-.../dp/B009NLTW60 Works great. Have one in my wife's car. Mic is right on the control button...Just mount it in a somewhat out of the way place and you're good. I have a similar one in my 328, but when I bought it I didn't realize the mic was on the aux jack plug so I use the car's built in for voice stuff and my aftermarket for audio streaming. The advantage of having something like this is price, easy in, easy out, you gain a USB charger, and music streaming that you won't even get the ability to do if you pay all this ridiculous money to install the OEM Bluetooth stuff. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
