Cobb Stg2+FMIC w/ Different Turbo
I was wondering if I have to get my turbos replaced anyway I was going to upgrade to RB turbos or the Vargas turbos.
My first question is there any difference between which one I should go with? My next question is I am going to be running stage 2 + FMIC for the Cobb AP, will that be okay? I also know that it can also be pointless if I upgrade the turbo just for the stg 2 + FMIC. I would like to run stg 2 + FMIC safely with max potential of that stage. |

You need a custom tune for upgraded turbos.

I see, thanks guys. I guess new stock turbos it is. I actually think that the stg 2 + FMIC is great and am happy with the power.
Now I know that the stocks are good for that map, I guess that is what I'm going with. Thanks. |

Pretty sure the stock turbos are less reliable and have an inferior wastegate design compared to something like RB's. Yes, with RB's you'll need a custom tune but that costs next to nothing compared to turbo installation. (Check out a PTF e-tune, they were 199.99 last I checked). You can have a map made for you very similar to stage 2 + fmic power levels, and you will have plenty of head room left on the table if you ever feel the need for more.

If I were you I'd stay on the upgraded turbo path and then go to PTF to make a custom tune. It really isn't that much and you'll have the power when you need otherwise regular driving it is. It doesn't change anything except under WOT and they can make the tune a lot smoother.
