AFE Products

I have a 2011 Twin Power 335i and I was thinking of the AFE Scorcher, AFE exhaust and AFE Stage 2 air intake. I was thinking Dinan but 2 grand is alot for the same hp that AFE gives you at less money in the Scorcher.

Do I have any thoughts on this and if so pros and cons.

The AFE scorcher sucks. Get a Cobb AP or a JB4.

I'm not too sure about their exhaust as I've never heard it in person but it isn't too popular...

Their intake is good, both the dual cone intake and the sealed one.

What he ^^^ said. Cobb with E-Tune from PTF. Or...JB4 map 5 with some e85 splashed in. One or the other....no dinan or AFE "Scorcher". Trust!!

I have the AFE dual cone with the bracket mount. Also have BMS DCI. Go back and forth.

Get a VRSF fmic and a BMW Performance Exhaust. They sound wicked.

You're going to have fun!!!

BMW Exhaust

Isn't the BMW performance just 2 mufflers not the whole cat back? I heard that Cobb and JB4 were great. Thanks for the info. Now I need to find someone to install either one. I can do exhaust but not anything with ECU. Heard the AFE exhaust not really bad sounding and the fact that I get 25% off AFE make it better. But the exhaust I thought really sounded good was Spersprint and Borla. Borla exspecially but I don't think they make it for 335i ?? But I appreciate all the help. I'm trying to do it right.

Cobb makes it reallllly easy to install. Basically just plug it into the OBD port, accessed near the trunk button near your left foot. And simply upload the maps that you want. You'll actually have to try real hard to mess anything up. JB4 is a bit more of a hassle because you actually have to get under the hood to access the ECU.

Borla makes exhausts for the 335i cars. Shop around. I believe they have an axle back exhaust and a catback exhaust for our cars.

Don't bother with the AFE tune, I would sooner tell you to go with the JB4. I don't like recommending the Cobb for N55 because they are very problematic with their ROM's.

What others have said about the Cobb or JB4. The BMW Performance Exhaust is a cat back for the e90 (sedan) and I believe mufflers for the e92/93 (coupe). I'm not positive about the coupe but I just bought the performance exhaust for my sedan and it is a whole cat/downpipe back.

+1 to other's advice. Also you should get active over in N55 section as that is what you have. N54 is the twin-turbo engine.

Difference

so the only difference besides price between the Cobb (849)and JB4 (529) is the Cobb can be take out and reset before sevice whereas the JB4 would have to be unplugged. What does the Cobb produce as far as the most hp and torque? I read JB4 up 80hp.

CObb also has access to ignition advance, afr and fuel tables.
It can also log all cylinders.
In terms of power they can both produce the same thing if tuned properly.
JB4 also has advantages over cobb (more features, change map instantly).
With that being said go with Jb4 you won't regret it
