Hey All

I posted on Sparky68 thread (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=922735) but I guess I should have opened my own thread as i didn't get any replies

I do get some serious rubbing on corners (well serious when wife is with me and she's not fat ok!!!!),when over 35mph or when going through 'deep' bumps. but it seems it mostly happens on the rear left side (not the drivers side). When car is parked, I also noticed that the gap between left wheel/tyre and the top of arch is shorter on the left side too (confirming rubbing). As you guys maybe know, my rear arches are modded "M3" ones to match the M3 bumper I had installed. Maybe tomorrow I will take pics for you guys to see it.

Would it be springs related or maybe something not properly right? maybe a broken spring? When driving everything seems to be normal apart from when going on potholes, i do feel the left rear hits a bit harder.

Anyways, I will be getting new wheels soon from Chris and he assured me the new wheels would eliminate by rubbing (planning to get the 19" ISPIRI ISR10). Current ones I have are DOTZ MUGGELO 9.5 ET32 (rears)

i've met guy today with exsact same problem , he has full m3 conversion with wide rear arches ,and the problem is obvious once you look at it .




p.s. i'm running 19x9.5 et23 265/30 with zero rubbing

just a thought I had rubbing in that area when I fitted 265/30 but found it was the inner arch lining wasn't quite pushed behind the metal arch 2 secs each side and problem solved. worth a look?

Ive been having rubbing issues too, same as hmpmarketing! but ive been so lazy that I've been letting that rub dub .

Ive got 265/30 on rears too with eibach pro springs only...!

How did you guys eliminate this rub? Did you roll fenders? DIY or got someone to do it?

Would totally appreciate your help too!

on mine it was simple didn't rub all the time just when hitting a dip or bump that loaded the springs. it was a piece of the plastic inner arch liner just above the rear bumper that need to be tucked in behind the metal wheel arch, car was bought new so presumably left the factory like this and possible others could be the same. I pushed it back and has not rubbed since under any conditions even with passengers in the back

Hi M4rius!

You see, that pic when it was taken, I didnt have spacers on. I actually forgot to mention, I have spacers on both rear wheels. I believe they are 10mm ones. So yea, that pic looks "strange" , however with spacers on both I do not get rubbing on drivers side!

By the way guys, tyres on rear are 275s side at all!!!!

well, I dont think the lining has anything to do with it....but I think the rear arches "folding" in the inner side is what the tyre is rubbing on...possilby cutting it? (cant roll the fender as the addon piece is not made of metal!)

If I have 2 passengers on the rear seats I cant even drive around, as it will rub until it smokes

I wish I could just roll the fenders but that isnt possible :-(

HAHa same with me, been rubbing for ages! It only pisses me off when driving with the wife, as she complains all the time.

do you have m3 arches on?

do you know exactly where its rubbing if not a good way to tell is stick double sided tape around the arch when it rubs the tape is worn away

If you see picture of rear side passenger, you can see remains of rubber on the top of the arch

You need to cut places with the red arrows. Arch rolling probably won't be an option as they going to crack .




Abit pointless ''wide'' arch conversion when you can't fit wide wheels does it
