SSTT Scans: Any codes thrown?
With all this mess with different codes being thrown for different tunes, has anyone here had a tune thrown with the SSTT only?
Not bashing any products (don't get on me, sponsors) but there have been several threads on basically every tune saying that the tune has thrown some sort of manipulation code. I feel like lately the JB+ is getting bashed the most, but Procede and JB# are getting there fair share as well. So, to repeat my question: Has anyone had a code thrown running SSTT? If so, what were the accompanying mods?

I had run an SSTT. No codes thrown, the only CEL was related to a fuel pump.

I had a 'friend' running this tune and had it scanned with a BT recently. No codes, the familiar misfire issue was pretty much all over the place but that's it. SSTT is still a rock solid product.

I've got a BT coming, but I am pre 29.2 so I don't expect to see the manipulation code, but I am interested to see if anything else is there and/or if I can spot issues with the HPFP.

I think the question should be...
Has anyone who has the new software (32.1) with an SSTT scan their vehicle with a BT or GT1 for any codes? Edit: I never had a code with my SSTT nor have I had any codes with my JB+ turned up to 90%.. But I am pre 29.2, so my testimonial has little meaning to the new ECU upgrade. I think its smart for everyone who is running a tune to get a GT1 or a BT tool.. Last edited by RambleJ; 04-15-2009 at 07:56 PM.. |

I had a post some time ago where I asked Jeff from Eurobahn about this and he replied that his 135i was running 32.1 and was not showing any codes while the SSTT was plugged in for a scan.

Not only does the JB+ have air intake temperature boost decay, and progressive overboost protection, it also computes barometric pressure and self adapts itself for altitude changes! Then there is that whole $279 pricetag and adjustable boost thing.

Recent ECU update
With the recent updates to the ECU software has there been any new codes picked up?
I have an 08 335xi Sedan and was looking to get the SSTT or a JB+ for a little extra kick but am still under original 4 year and 6 year CPO warranties. Im pretty sure I have the latest sw version available. Is there any way I can check to see what version is installed? Thanks!! |

I was stock except for SSTT on my '07 and now the same on my '10, no codes, no problems, just a nice gain in hp/tq. Of course it was pricey when I bought it, but it is so simple to click into place and it was nice being able to re-use it on my new 335.

CEL for me
I installed it per the given instructions too. Took it off and the Limp-Mode symbol remained.
