Finally bought new wheels and the winner is... Now need help w/tires
Style 199's! I found a brand new set on Ebay and got them for $1700 w/shipping from a BMW dealer in Ohio. My 330 is sparkling graphite like the car in the accessories book (see photo) and I think those wheels look awesome. Now I just need tires and I'm set. Any suggestions? I'm thinking about Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's in 235/35/19 in the front and 265/30/19 in the back. If you buy the 199's and tires from BMW they come w/ 225/35/19 in the front and 255/30/19 in the back. Does anybody see an issue going w/ the bigger size?

Congrats on your purchase! Those wheels look super cool. Someone posted a photo of those on a red E90 some days ago, and I believe they are simply the best OEM wheel for the E90. In order to be perfect, the staggered rim should have been 9.5 inches wide and with a wilder offset.
Your choice of tires should work great with them. Rear fitment of 265/30 requires a minimum rim width of 9 inches, which is what your rear wheels have. A 9.5 width would´ve been ideal, but 9 is still under the tire manufacturer´s spec. I am sure that those tires will work much better that the OEM 225/255 19 inch runflats. Firstly because they are not runflats and secondly because of the extra rubber on the tire´s sidewall. |

Congrats Matsarge. Bought my 199's few weeks back at bmwwheels.com. Ordered my tires online at tirerack and they just showed up at local Goodyear. Getting them mounted tomorrow at 8am. Very excited. I got the standard size tire, (225/35 F 255/30 R) but you are probably better off with wider ones. I'll post some pix tomorrow night to give you an idea on look. I havent seen any posts yet w/199's on darker color, besides red.

Good choice...199's are my second favorite to the 162's.

matsarge, Just left Goodyear bout an hour ago. The 199's look great. You are going to love them. They are a very clean looking wheel. They dropped right in on Sport suspension. I'll post pix later tonight when I get a chance. I still need to tint windows, chrome the exhaust, and add spoiler but you will get the idea.

I got the wheels today and they look awesome in person. In some of the photos I've seen they almost look plastic but not so in person. It's going to be a struggle to wait out the next 4-6 weeks and not put them on. I tried to take some good photos. Enjoy.

I did notice on the inside of one wheels that it had a Ronal stamp. I didn't realize that's who makes the wheels for BMW. |

matsarge,
just wanted to post some cleaner pix of the 199's for you. You asked about the gap. I think they sit nice. Does anybody have an opinion on installing spacers in the rear. The tires are only 255 so not sure if it would work?? |
