Rb/Vargas limits
At what boost level do rb turbos and/or Vargas stage 2 become running inefficiently? I am running 21psi low down and 17 at redline. I am wondering if turning them up to 23-24 low down would be detrimental. I personally have rb's and love them. The interest in higher boost is to spank a 5.0 FBO and a 125 shot. I kept within range on lower boost but need it to be convincing

At that boost level, you're producing lots of heat for relatively little additional power.
I wouldn't be comfortable running much more than 18-19 psi peak tapering down to maybe 14-15 psi at redline. At the levels you're running, I fear that your turbos won't last long. Just my two cents... Neil |

Agree with MDORPHIN. On a regular basis with proper fueling (at least 93 octane and plenty of meth injection) on RBs, 18-19.5 psi mid range rpm, to 16-16.5 near redline seems well tolerated for occasional wide open throttle. Pushing mid range to over 20 psi is likely gaining little for the extra wear and tear. I have never done it. Would recommend, full logging with every 1/2 psi above 19 at mid-range to verify performance, and realize you are going into the pay to play area, with much more risk of costly impacts.
