Question deposit refund??

I've put a $1000 for deposit, if I don't want the car no more after it's being built, will they refund the deposit? thanks

You sure are a very indecive person. Over the past few months, you've pondered on i vs xi, 328 vs 335, color, sport package...etc every possible options under the sun. And when you've finally made the decision to go with the 328, now that it's built already, you're regretting your choice.

why do you want your deposit back? I thought you were going to put it towards a 335? unless you're not looking to buy a BMW anymore?

i am still, its just that the dealer gave me a very good deal on the 328, i am just afraid that he will want more from me if I change my mind. If the deposit is refundable then I can just walk away if he's going to give me a bad price on the 335. Please help me...

if it's not some funky color, with some pressure i'm sure they will give you your money back. unless there was somewhere stated as non refundable.

Here's the thing, if you're going to ask for the deposit back before negotiating on the 335, I'm willing to bet they will try to sell you a car off the lot, no way they're going to take the chance of you bailling out on them again on a 335 order.

read the terms of the order sheet. No point in asking us if the order sheet states "non-refundable deposit"

errr, that sucks... because I have a feeling that the dealer will jack up the 335i price on me because my dad kinda ripped him off for the 328i.

I think it depends on the state. In NJ, unless it is an impossible car to sell due to color etc, the deposit is fully refundable, regardless of whether you signed the "no refunds" clause. In fact you can back out of the deal right up until you drive off of the lot, even with the paperwork signed.

In any case I have yet to find a dealer who would not refund the deposit money if for no other reason than good-will. I can not imagine any new BMW three would be difficult for the dealer to sell.

Bear in mind that the 335 is (a) more expensive, and (b) less aggressively discounted than the 328. Lease and financing rates are higher for the '35, too.

i think it depends on the dealership. when i first ordered my car back in aug and put down 1k, it said on the sheet that if i decide not to take delivery on the vehicle, i have to pay the destination fee (775).

Geez!

What is on paper is all that matters. Perhaps your money would be better spent on further education?

if you ordered 6-MT, they'll give you a lot of trouble. Afterall this is NY.

Mine was non-refundable because it was MT. My CA told me she'd have no issues with refunding deposits on any automatics.

my 2cents.
