Plasti dip issue. Help please!
Just plasti dipped my window trim and it looked great.. Until I tried opening the doors. It started to peel the plasti dip along the top trim.
How do people avoid this issue? Thanks,

I would open the doors immediately after you're done spraying them to avoid that issue. Or, keep it cracked open when you apply to avoid contact.

Then I'd have to pull the tape off right away too since it's stopping the door from opening. Is it ok to remove the tape before the dip dries?

Yep, and I'd recommend it. Just don't over do it enough that it will drip and run down your window.

Just food for thought, I dipped first 335 twice, had minor cosmetic issues (my fault), and pulled if off after a couple of weeks each time. swing by any sign shop and ask for some scrap gloss vinyl. A hair dryer or heat gun and a little extra time (30min each side for me) an I had a near permanent fix. It actually took elbow grease to pull it off. The sign place charged me $10 for the strips and I had plenty left over to wrap my dash trim. Another option if you keep having problems.

I tried vinyl before.. Too difficult for me to do. Looked kinda sloppy. Plasti dip definitely looks better but just not perfect because of the doors.
Has anyone done it with doors open so they could dip all the chrome? That might be my next attempt

No need to spray it all at once. In between coats as you sprayed it open the door right after it ensures nothing is bonding together. I dipped to many trims / rims / cars in my life lmao.

its your prep work. you need to mask around carefully. i never had a problem with the plasti dip for window trim but i later switched to 3m vinyl and its very easy to work with. went with gloss black metallic
