installing aftermarket system

I have a jl 500.1 and a jl 12" w6v2 from my previous car, last night I stopped by tweeter and asked for an estimate/if they can install it. the guy said he has to look into it because its a fiber optic system and they ran into a problem on a 325i 06.

can any of you guys elaborate on this?
is it even true............is there anything I can do about it?

thx

yea there is fiberoptic cables going between the head unit and the factory amp, but u can still hook up an aftermarcket amp to it i just installed a mono amp and one sub and it sounds sick,,,just that i had to hook up a high/low converter to speacker wires going to the amp,so i was able to hook up the RCA wire from the amp, and ran a remote wire to the accesery adapter in the center consol....Just add the amp for the sub and if u want replace all the speackers with aftermarcket and it will sound insane.........

Do you guys made a hole from the back seats through the trunk? I heard BMW's trunk are sealed trunks so theres no air going through and that means the sub wont hit as much?

Having a hole to allow the bass to escape from the trunk would definitely help the bass get into the cabin. Here's tightie's setup
