Survey: Bridgestone Potenza RE050A RFT's
how many miles do you have on them currently? or how many miles did you get out of them before you had to get new tires?
i currently have about 16,500 miles on them. there's still some tread left. i think i can make it to at least 20,000 miles.

I have about 16k miles on my tires. The tires don't look very worn at all. I think I can get about 25k miles from this set.
When I got the car, I had prepared myself for getting about 12k miles from a set, so I am VERY happy.

Yea, at 8k mine are doing fine. Much better than all that I had read about, and much more than rating would suggest.

I am hoping to get 16K or more out of the summer tires. I swap to winter tires for 4 months or so of the year, so 16K should be about 2 years for me. I'd be happy with that.

First set = 8000 miles, got loud, took them to the dealer, they said cupping and needed to replace. Replaced them for free (under circumstances), otherwise, they were about 1300 for four ZSP (mounted).
New set has about 3600 on them and they are OK...so far. |

BMW South Africa replaced all 4 my Bridgestone Potenza RE050A RFT's with 4 new ones after complaining about bad tire wear. Done only 23 000 km and the tires are finished. I think there must be something wrong with these tyres.

5.5k on mine, no issues thus far. It seems that the odds of premature tire wear and all the other issues associated with the RFT's are pretty darn high...
I think I'll be switching to non-rft's after this set, assuming that I get to wear the tread out naturally and not have it replaced by my dealer. ________ YAMAHA RX 50 Last edited by HappyG; 05-17-2011 at 03:40 AM.. |

9k on mine - but I hate them
2006 325xiT with sport - staggered 161's - 225-45 & 255-40. Hard ride, noisy, tramlining, crappy / wobbly steering and this was before I got a nail in each rear.
So - have any of you US guys had any luck in getting the dealer to replace them ?. I've read theTuranza threads where dealers are replacing them but any luck with Potenzas ?. I'll settle for pay for 2 get 4 (as my rears had puctures) - what are my chances ? Thanks Andy. |

I dont think you will get potenza replaced by dealer or by bridgestone. I do agreed on the wobbly steering feel...i get that wobbly feel at low speed (5-10 mph) as I am turning. I always thought it was the RFT so I never bother to do anything with it. I dont get the wobbly steering feel when I trun with higher/faster speed.

At >21,000 miles, and have BAD problem with Front
My front tires, on the insides, has about 1 inch wide wear, much like the defect here: http://www.bmwtis.com/tsb/bulletins/...p/B360606g.htm
Anyway, they're horribly NOISY from the beginning. I hope my Dealer will replace them no charge. Current wear looks OK on the REAR ones. |
