Shopping for BMW Extended Protection Plan

Did a brief search, but could not find a thread that answered the following -

I'm interested in buying the BMW Extended Protection Plan for my 2011 335d and wonder if the pricing is competitive at all? Are there dealers that sell it less than others, and if so who may those be?

Thanks in advance,

JB

I just purchased the Gold for 5 years and 100,000 miles. Price was $2850. This was from the dealership that I purchased the car from. First dealership I went to wanted $4,000. I just walked away and before I made it through the door the guy was calling me back in. He said that he wanted to help me out so he would do it for $3,500. LOL. This was only seconds after he had just quoted me $4,000. I just kept walking. The cheapest I got was $3,250 before I called the dealership that I had purchased the car from.

Just mine yesterday $3220, its on the bmw website they show you theprice breakdowns, $3200 is about as low as you will find, I emailed 20 dealerships before buying one they had quotes from $4200 to $3200, what a ripoff...

Good Afternoon Everyone:

Can I purchase extended warranty/maintenance thru a different dealer? Would that cause any issues with the dealership were I have my car normally serviced?

Just want to see if I can get a better price than what my dealership quoted me.

Thank you for your help!

Contact Jeff.Steel@passportauto.com

You can purchase a warranty if they allow it. Most dealers dont, some do. Jeff happens to be one of those that support forum members. I got a retail quote from my local and jeff offered a deal i couldnt pass up. The warranty offered by Jeff is a BMW NA extended service contract. That means no matter what dealer you go through as long as its an authorized BMW NA one they have to service your car.

So for example I got mine from Jeff in Maryland, I live in Florida and drive to Cali where my engine dies. Since im in the national system for 7/100k they have to repair my car. with a 50$ deductible of course. This applys to your local dealer too. So if you break down at home they will fix it.

If you are under on your standard 4yr/50k warranty, you can purchase a BMW NA ESP for your car in any state that you live or don't live in other than CA. Why can't you buy one out of CA if you live in CA.........don't really know but incredibly stupid as I learned; however, there is a work around for that because I did get mine from an out of state BMW dealership. All you need is an address out of the state (relative/friend) and that works just fine.
