Wait for the 335. Just got my 335xi 3 weeks ago. SOOOOO glad i didnt get the 328. the wait is short compared to how long you will enjoy your car.

i'd say if you have 6-speed MT, either one will offer decent performance. I test drove the 328i slushbox, and as expected, sluggish.

ehh honestly IMO, ive driven my 328 for a few days now, about 65 miles on it, im more than happy for a DD like this. it has enough power to get me from light to light, i truly think if i wouldve gotten the 335 it would have been excessive, but i cant lie, i do love those two exhaust pipes stickin out from the rear. but look at it this way, the new M3 will be out and a more powerful 3 series soon im sure, youll want those too. is it really worth getting a 335 then?

Take the 335 for a test drive - I think that will seal the deal for you. It doesn't make sense for you to pass up the 335. Also, contact other dealers to see what kind of price they will give you on a new 335i - who knows, maybe they'll even have one in stock.

switching to a 335i might cost you to lose your deposit, which is better than living with a car that you are going to regret everytime you drive it.
