Carbon fiber vinyl interior

Does anyone know if a place local to CT that does interior trim in carbon fiber. How hard is it to do yourself I've seen many people do it, but not actual tutorials. I've also heard there is a place I can send trim away to.

Very easy. It might look and sound tough but if you have even the slightest of skills of figuring things out then you will be fine. I did it for the first time a few weeks ago on the dash and door trims and it took me a total of 2 hours to get it all done including the removal and putting the trims back on.

There are a few DIY if you check that section. Search for CF Trim wrap or Carbon Fiber wrap and a few should pop up.

I just finished my center console last week Friday and that took me about 30 minutes to finish + the 15 minutes to take it off and reinstall. The toughest one of them all is the dash trim - just coz u have to remove the air vents from the trim and then to get that damn connector for the parking lights is a PITA! I eventually UN-taped the wire that is taped down to the base and that gave me enough length on the wire to install it easily.

Here are a few pics of my install recently:

All you will need is a hairdryer/heat gun (I used a hair dryer and it worked just fine for me), scissors, 3M wrap, beer, music and you are all set. You surely will need some moisturizer to soothe your finger tips after the wrap lol. Its a fun mod.

Rohit, a member on this forum helped me out a great deal before I started my project and each of those tips was so helpful. PM me if you need any tips/help.

Hey I don't want to be one of those people who don't search for themselves but, I can't find any DIY for this specifically showing how to use heat. I found how to remove trim but, no real DIY on how to do it just everyone showing off theirs! Which makes me more envious I just bought my wrap. Thanks

I think Hair dryer heat is sufficient. Just keep the hair dryer about an inch away from the vinyl and heat it for about 6-7 seconds each time...just enough to give it a bit of a stretch so that once it is on, when the car is outside and gets really hot with direct or indirect sunlight, it doesn't start bubbling or wrinkling.
