Yeah from what ive read michellin PSS are the best ones to buy. lets be honest though, doesnt matter how much money you got (to a certain extent) nobody wants to spend £800-£1000 on TYRES! i dont want to sacrifice safety at all, and so far its looking like the mitchellins, but i wonder whether there are any tyres from less established brands which sell something where your getting just a small percentage less performance for a lot less cash, without driving on giant hockey pucks. thats always nice! Any ideas

I've had 2 sets of rfts and my wheels never cracked.

switching from rft to normal tyres is mostly for the handling/ grip that normal tyres provide in the wet. ride will also improve.

if you're looking for mid range tyres go for vreds...

otherwise, Michelin PSS or ps3...

contisport 5p also got good reviews...

Correct, everyone seems to think run flats=cracked wheels.
Every cracked alloy I see Is an mv4 style 225 rear.Every single other bm has run flats (except m power) and barely ever see cracked wheels and that includes the 21" numbers on x5/x6.Its a design flaw in the wheel , which is why they phased out mv4's.

since theres a few uk lads in here i might aswell ask rather than start a new thread. I did do a search but these forums are overran with Americans!

Its coming up to a year for the service on my car, its only covered 6k miles but im itching to get it done lol, ill be supplying the parts for an oil change so just wondering what oil to get. im reading 5w30 a lot of places but i really dont understand oil gradings, so is there a better oil type to buy for n54 in uk climate? I know some oils are thicker than others but dont know how that effects the car either. another nooby question i know ha but help a brother out....
