Question Installed Procede today and N54 max torque question

1)BMW claims that the N54 reaches peak torque at 1400RPM, but why are people only getting peak torque at >2000RPM from dyno results?

2)I installed PROceed today. And so far, everything works

I definitely feel more power coming from the engine. However, I feel that there is a lag between pressing down the gas and actual power delivery at lower RPM... Before PROceed, the power seems to be available instantly (even at ~1500RPM)...

Is it because PROceeded N54 reaches peak torque at a higher RPM? Or maybe I should use the "low boost" map?(i have v1.47 now) Thanks!

There is more of a "jump" in power with Procede 1.47. This has been reduced with V2. Its a lot more smooth power delivery.

If its auto try the DS mode...the lag is significantly less than regular D mode

to get the full tq at lower rpms, you need to floor it in as low as rpm as possible, to allow the turbos to spool.

I have found that shifting at 3k rpms works pretty well to ensure smooth power delivery, but the surge is going to be there!

It's because 1.47 only utilizes one solenoid due to the bypass valve, v2 will bring that back and use the stock, dual solenoid to controll boost and you will see that stock response and linearity you had learned to love before.

I noticed the same thing when i installed 1.47, wasn't very happy about it, then hit 3rd and forgot all about it

the reason the engine does not reach peak boost until higher rpm is because before at 1500 rpm it has hit the 9psi already but with the chip it does not hit the 14psi until 2000+

From Dustin at the Vishnu forum:

"Turbo lag is a mechanical limitation of the turbo itself. NOT a result of tuning. Now, on the stock car, it doesn't make that much more power when the turbo is spooled. You may see in the low 200 FTLB range off boost, and in the mid to high 200 range when full boost is achieved, speaking in numbers to the wheels. The result is a very small step up in torque from off boost to on boost.

When the procede is added, so is another 100Ftlbs of torque to the on boost condition, the step up is much larger. The car is now stepping up from 200 FTLBs to close to 400 FTLBs. Does it still take the same amount of time for the turbos to achieve full boost? Yes. Is it more noticeable when full boost is achieved, because of the larger jump in torque? Yes. Is there anyway to make this bump less noticeable? Yes...take away torque (but who wants that)."

also, do some research on catless or highflow catted downpipes. I've heard this really helps eliminate the lag by helping the spooling process.

there is alot more lag off the line than stock but the power from 2000 rpm up
sure makes up for it. This is totally normal with v1.47

There is no less torque off the line with the PROcede. There is just so much new torque above 2500rpm that the same amount of torque below 2500rpm feels wussy in comparison.

It must take longer for the turbos to acheive full boost though. Assuming that the DP and turbo internals are the same as stock, won't it take longer to get to 14 lbs than 8 lbs?
