Looks like its designed for high level inputs
Looks like its designed for high level inputs.
The best question would be will it work with your Head Unit or do you intend to use speaker outs as your input. The better setup is to drive a amp designed for low level pre outs with low level pre outs. You should state which system you are starting with and what your goals are. I would suggest going to Amazon and checking the leftover Zapco DC200.2 amps in there. Do not get caught up with the power output, the important feature is its DSP with the Jehnert woofers.

Already bought this. Guess I can return on amazon. So it won't work with your harness on Dirac system to power under seat woofers? Even if not needed or is too much amp, I hate returning stuff but I need to or will this work?

Just make sure that the seller includes the Symbilink cable and the RCA adapter with the DC200.2. |

I already bought the RF amp. Aside from being a poor financial move, why does it not work in this application. I just don't want to hassle with returning it. So CAM I use it despite being overpriced?

What stock system do you have? The earthquakes cannot handle 300watts rms each, but that doesn't mean you can't use that amp. It's always good to have more power than you need. There was a thread not too long ago about some Phoenix Gold midbass drivers that can handle 300 watts woth those you'd probably need a trunk sub since they are midbass drivers.

If it were me I'd return the RF and get TWO Zapco DC200.2 amps. It's a no-brainer for the price. The RF and Zapco amps are on opposite ends of the spectrum. You can also get a DC500.1 but it would be in mono. Don't worry too much about power, the Earthquakes can only take 150W RMS anyway from what I remember. At that point the enclosures become the limiting factor, not the power!!!

Thanks guys. I have Dirac system. Going with 2 ohm earthquakes. I was able to return amp easily today and went with RF 500 2 channel amp punch. Was cheaper and plenty of power in case I want to go jehnrrys down the line as they can handle 200 watts rms . The amp will be plenty for earthquakes.
The only problem with all these amps is the lowest high pass frequency is 50. I was hoping to be able to high pass at 35 or 40 if I did jehnerts. For now I'll run earthquakes at full factory crossed range of 20-200 or so. I may low pass it at 175 but I can play with it |
