I am evaluating some power options for my 335xi that I am picking up on the 31st.
I am looking the torque curve for the last 1500-2000 rpm.....this is most critical for the acceleration. Is there anything that can be done to increase torque in this area? Or is the engine at the limit of the turbos?

This is true... I used to do this in my track car on hot days or when i wanted to run an extra 2psi of boost. I bought my Toluene in one gallon containers at a wholesale paint supply store. Worked like a charm!

Some think toluene is better than onctane boosters, or even race fuel

As I remember, Shiv metioned Permatex brand NOS octane boosters as reasonable.
http://www.permatex.com/products/aut...e_boosters.htm They use methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl or MMT. See also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methylc...se_tricarbonyl Full history of MMT: http://www.aftonchemical.com/Product...+MMT®.htm Last edited by beepbeep; 10-22-2007 at 12:32 PM.. Here are the PROcede v2.0.1 torque settings I use:
Reference: 80% across the board should be equivalent to the PROcede v1.47. Reasons: I always wanted a tune for my car which gives me around 400 HP and not too much torque respecting the AT. These settings should provide ~ 390 hp on my otherwise stock car. In addition I will install the Spearco FMIC, RISS catted Downpipes, Supersprint mufflers and improved diverter valves. I expect I will end up with 410-420 hp when all the mod's will be installed ( in spring 2008 ). Then I'm done with engine performance tuning and I guess I'll get very good throttle response and overall reliability. All numbers are @ crank. - Eugen Last edited by e.n335; 10-27-2007 at 08:53 AM.. |
