New Bridgestone Driveguard RFT
My 335i coupe is going to need a new set of tires soon, I'm still on the original factory Michelin PS2 RFT, I cant say they have been a terrible tire but they are starting to ride hard as they reach their end.
I'm not opposed to going with another RFT (only pricing is a little crazy). I drove by my local Firestone dealer who had a sign advertising these new 3rd generation RTF's, I looked at them, they looked pretty good, they showed me the low profile version which look comparable to my Michelin PS2's, supposedly they have a 50K tread wear. They gave me an out the door price of $1200. Has anyone looked into these or have had tried them out yet? http://www.tirereview.com/bridgeston...oduct-to-sell/ |

The new Driveguard is actually a few years newer than the first of the "3G" run flat tires, the Bridgestone RE960 A/S Pole Position RFT. We have driven on the Driveguard and it is indeed a softer riding tire than other run flat tires that we've driven on. It would have quite a bit better ride quality than the PS2 ZP, but will have slower steering response and less grip. It is a great choice for someone looking to maximize ride quality in an all season tire that still needs to keep a run flat tire on the car.
