What does this device do?

This is my first post on this forum. Been a long time reader but only recently registered and posted pics of my 330i. Hello Everyone!

I have been wondering what the device highlighted in the photo does. This pic is taken of the boot (trunk for you Americans) of my E90 with the floor removed.

I know the other device in this pic is for bluetooth but the other???

Any ideas?

My wild-ass guess was that it's a yaw sensor (specifically, an accelerometer parallel to the rear axle) for the traction control system based on its location and orientation. I can't find a shred of info on RealOEM to back up that hunch, though.

If you can find a part number on it, you could probably get a description from RealOEM... or you could unplug it and see what kind of error you get when you start the car
