Downpipe Stud Broken - How to Remove?

Does anyone know how to remove the welded stud off the OEM downpipe?

Was the weld on the flat head side (Downpipe side) or the thread side (midpipe side) ? anyone ?

any help would be greatly appreciated !

I've been beating on one of my broken studs for quite some time with no luck...looks like I'll be drilling it out.

Heat and a hammer, I've done it a few times.

I tried heat and hammer to no avail. I was afraid to bend the flange.

I ended up drilling all four studs on my downpipes when I replaced my turbos... You need good drill bits, the stud material is pretty tough!

Does that mean the downpipe has to be off the car for all the hammering?

It's recommended you remove the DP's before adding gobs of heat

I always use an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel to get those out. With the dp's out, just cut a line into the outter side of the hole. It releases the tension and the stud pretty much falls out. Minimal effort.

I wish I thought of that a couple years back. Drilling them out was a nightmare.
