next time i will deffinitley have track pads, fluid and my car on a different setup power wise.
are OEM pads no good for the track is that why everyone is telling me to switch out for the track?
i have no problem selling the brand new OEM pads i have for better ones but i was hoping i can use the same pad for DD and track.
Road racing is very complicated, but the more you do it the better you will understand. Track pads are expensive for a reason and will make you faster. Our BMWs are heavy at 3500lbs, not an ideal weight for the track .... so you need a serious pad/fluid/lines to compensate the weight and heat of track abuse. I use Hawk Blue race pads on my SCCA Integra about $160 for the fronts. I was in the same boat as you many moons ago... road racing is all about getting in and out of the corners as fast as possible!!

You can use stock pads the first few times. Make sure you have more than 50% left and always bring a spare set in case you need to replace before driving back home. Practice short hard braking as much as possible. The less you turn the wheel and touch the brakes the faster you will go thru corners.

If you want track pads many folks use PFC and Pagid. I just got Pagid RS29.

I can't stress enough how important braking is and feeling confident that the car can do what you are asking it to do.

SS lines are good.
