Shopping for a new toy.
hi eveyone. so is not a car im buying this time a new seadoo. im looking at a rxp x 260 but is the first time I buy one of thos things.
how should I approach the negotiations? same as a car? is a 2013 model so how much discount should I ask for? I was thiking 20% off msrp which 14,600. but im not sure how pricing works on this things and how much a dealership can actually discount. im also buying a trailer with it. any ideas and help is greatly appreciated. im also buying off state to avoid taxation so that should save me 1G or so. 8)

I'd take a look on forums that specialize in water sport toys and see what people are paying. Most forums will have an Order Thread or something like it to see what people are paying and where.
Buying in another state may not work, as you'll need to register it in your state which may force you to pay taxes. At least that's how they do it with cars in some states. Otherwise, everyone in Washington would come to Oregon to buy a car, since we have no sales tax. |
