key slot broken need a new one

Hi,
Earlier today I pulled out my key and it broke the key slot holder.
I tried sticking the two little holders back on but it didn't work so I am now left with a broken key slot.

Any experience with these??
Looking online it is becoming common for these to fail. The part number is 66129172372.

Will this need to be coded to read my key? If not, how will it know my key is the right one?

I've never seen this yet,but no they're not coded to the car just plug and go.
