Anyone know if the amp rack from musicar for the JL X600 is the same for the 3 series and 1 series? Secondly is the technic harness for the logic 7 compatible with the mid level HIFI (with tweeters), or would I need a whole new harness?

You can modify the existing rack but .

Its just as easy to fabricate a board with an L Bracket if you want something nice. Some people just use Velcro to keep it in place. You need to read the audio build thread to clairify your understanding of the various systems which is in these. Take a look at the Hi Fi builds in the Audio Build thread. The Technic Harness for that setup plugs at the point the old amp connects and basically breaks out the signals and provides a relay to buffer the turn on signal. If you get a MusicaNW system he gives you everything you need including a amp mounting board. With his setup the old mount comes out. Last edited by ctuna; 06-09-2014 at 07:39 PM.. |

I cut out a piece of 3/4" particle board the shape of the amp opening drilled 2 holes and used the existing screw holes. The logic 7 harness will not work with hifi they are completely different. |

It not clear he knows what system he has.

But a Hi Fi setup is not compatible with a Top Hi Fi L7 setup. Mid Level suggests Hi Fi but again we have mixed terminology in the original post. Last edited by ctuna; 06-09-2014 at 08:50 PM.. |

I know what system I have. Mine is the mid level or HIFI system from an 08 135i. The stereo was the base level for that year. Mine is the mid level and there was one more higher level which has the EQ. All I'm asking is if the technic harness that would work for a car with the logic 7 system, is the same one that would work for my system. It may have a couple extra lines for a analog/ digital coverter or DSP. Now my HIFI has the flat signal to begin with, so, I won't need the A/D coverter or the DSP. But could I use that harness and just not use the lines for the ad converter or DSP or is there a completely different harness that if need for the HIFI system I have now.

So let's cut the "mid level system" Jedi mind trick that will confuse forum members in here. And when forum members are confused my inbox gets full of non-searched questions. And I do not like my inbox full. Each particular OEM audio system uses a completely different harness just because each OEM amp -or lack thereof- uses a completely different connector. |

Ok thanks guys that clears it up. Reading back I can see how some of my original thread could be misleading and I understand the confusion now. A used system is in fact what I'm looking at.
