LCI SMC Error: Rheingold reports movement "too stiff"
Finally got around to retrofitting LCI Xenon headlights and after power-up I got an AHL error icon. Loaded up NCS Expert and reset the LSCM and RSCM which cleared the error. For confirmation, I then ran Rheingold ISTA to perform an ALC diagnostic and after testing the headlight movements, it reported the right side SMC motor movement was "too stiff" and recommended replacing the headlight; AHL error icon returned on the dash.
I'm wondering if it's possible to do some maintenance on the swivels? I know the vertical aim motor can also be replaced but not the horizontal aim motor, however, ISTA did not specify which plane it detected stiff movement. I bought the used unit several months ago face-to-face from a guy in LA, and although I still have his contact info, I doubt I could get him to refund the money after the time elapsed so I could be screwed out of this expensive waste.
