Another update: I drove the 2014 Vantage S again and while I could still feel the greater mass and less rigid structure, it still handled pretty well overall, certainly well enough to be fun to drive and the V8 sound and torque trump the flat six in the CS, no question. I got serious enough to do the math and get a trade value (which was decent). Learned that Freight and PDI with tax on a vantage in Canada is $10000 including tax, that makes quite the argument against ordering new. I did the #'s and the vantage would likely cost me $10000 more per year than the CS if I were to keep it for 2 years as I would plan to. $10000 a year is a lot and my thought was I don't think I would enjoy the vantage that much more per year. I also didn't like the prospect of having to give up my car now while the vantage was being built and be at the mercy of a smaller sports car manufacturer's build process and timelines. So I am going to hold off for now. But there is a still a strong ember of desire in me burning for the vantage (it really is my dream car) and I am going to keep my eye out for either an in stock unsold or pre-owned.
