Radio Navi Unit Turns on only after reset?
I just replaced my battery and got it registered and programmed. The problem I am having is the navigation screen fails to automatically turn on by itself. It will only do so if I pull the fuse and re-insert it then it launches. I initially thought it was doing that only because the battery was dead and couldn't hold a charge but now it is still doing this.
I shouldn't be any loose wiring if a simple fuse pull will fire it up I don't think. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks |

It is the standard iDrive with Logic7. I replaced it with a Bosch AGM battery through a Indy BMW specialist. It happened before and I was told that the unit will fail to initialize if it detects low voltage or something but it still is occurring. I have a 2007 335i coupe.
I have tried to reset it using the volume and eject buttons but the only thing that happens is the nav DVD ejects. iDrive still fails to initialize. So far pulling the radio fuse out then putting it back in is the only thing that works and I can't figure it out as to why. I have no other errors or warning lights that battery or anything electrical is not performing to standard. Thanks

12.6-12.7 volts
I also recently had the dvd/nav unit replaced as well as the idrive screen so those are both brand new. Im hoping the during the install they missed a minor connection. Its just weird that if I pull the fuse out for a bit then plug it back it it all becomes normal.

Ok so now pressing the volume combined with the eject buttons now turn on the iDrive. Still can't figure out why it won't fire up on its own. I can't imagine having to hold down the eject and volume every time I start up as being normal

After checking it out thoroughly this weekend it turns out that the iDrive is performing correctly but its the screen that isn't turning on. The screen turns on only after performing a reset. Any suggestions?
