steering wheel buttons don't work?

got the car a couple months ago, came with jb4. The steering wheels buttons to decrease volume and channel down don't work, everything else does on the wheel. In the past the airbag went off so I thought it was the clock spring. Put in a new clock oem clock spring and still, same two buttons don't work. Wires appeared in good shape? Should I buy the buttons next? What could this be?

Could just be the buttons... If it is a non-sport steering wheel I have a spare set I can sell

it is an m sport wheel.
