Coding Setup OS

Just starting my foray into coding my 09 335i, and am setting up a dedicated laptop for my coding needs. What is the optimal operating system to install? Any advantages or disadvantages for XP, Win7 or even Win8? Thx in advance!

I think XP is optimal, but I am running Windows 7 32 bit without any operating issues. The only thing is 32 bit doesn't read/utilize all 4GB of RAM. It only reads 2.9 something. However, I have yet to see any performance issues due that.

I'm running Win 7 with no issues. Win XP has it's flaws now that it's out of support.

I've coded my car with OS Xp through Windows 8. Doubt you'll have an issue.
