Cold start idle issue
Anyone know what's going on?
When its cold start, the RPM is kinda lower than before, and the exhaust sound so quiet and weird. 1st time Check engine light was the misfiring and fuel pump 2nd time check engine light was the misfiring and randomly misfire after those lights i changed the spark plugs ( NGK 5992 gapped 0.56mm (0.022″)) injectors and coils changed last year. HPFP changed 2 years ago. |

What did the old spark plugs looks like? They may indicate a leaky injector if they were fouled up.
What modifications are done to the vehicle? Do you have a tune? Have you tried resetting the adaptations? Have you tried uploading updated firmware and maps? |

One of the old spark plug which is cylinder# 4 is done, all block, i got the intercooler, downpipe, intake, and PE. This actually happened right after the tune. do you think maybe the tuning? whats the adaptations reset for? and how? i took off the JB4, cause the tuner tuned the map directly to the ECU. |

Lots of guys get this when going to NGK's.
Mine does it at times also, first cold start of the day. Factory plugs never do this for me. I still run NGK's though. |

Do you still have it? Does it smell like fuel or oil? I've been hearing this more and more about the NGK's. |

I only have 30K miles, my valves were recently blasted, plugs are brand new. Car runs flawlessly otherwise on an E60 mix map7 all day everyday. Maybe it's a bad injector I dunno. I recently even took note of the injector rates, fired up INPA and they all are coded spot on. Never noticed fuel on my plugs when I've pulled them. It hasn't been happening as much lately, it's getting warmer around here maybe that plays a part. |
