Will a n55 PE for xdrive fit on a n54 rwd? UPDATED: INSTALLED + VIDEO
Sorry for repost, posted in wrong section originally.
Hi all, I'm tried searching for sometime but I couldn't get a solid answer. I've come across a good deal on a PE. The seller has a 2011 e90 335xi, and I have an 2008 e90 335i rwd. Will this exhaust fit my car, or will I need to make any modifications to my exhaust. It seems from the pics that the mufflers and the xpipe for the n55 is included. Also is there a difference from him having the x drive and me being rwd? Thanks in advance. Last edited by nsx_modified; 06-24-2014 at 01:59 PM.. |

I have n55 mufflers with ebays $35 x-pipe. Took it to a very nice muffler shop to weld the rest of the piping and it worked like a charm. |

Yep, camps or welding will work.
Clamps are recommended so that you can easily swap exhausts with just camps vs cutting and welding. But, if welding, make sure you get a good shop to do the work so there's no leaks. |

So just to be clear that exhaust from a n55 will be good on my n54?
I can either: 1) install just the mufflers or 2) cut & replace the n54 resonator with the n55 xpipe together with the mufflers? |

Here's a thread to help you see the difference between all types of PE setups. You definitely need to replace that resonator with an x-pipe! Step 2 is what you want to do. |

So i've finally had some time to make a couple vids.
Install wasn't too bad, I just did it myself. I previously got rear ended, and when insurance fixed my right muffler, they just cut it off and replaced it. So when I was installing my mufflers I only had to cut the left side, since other side was cut already. In both videos I've already had the AR Design catless downpipes and a DCI. The first video will be with just the Performance Mufflers The 2nd video is the xpipe that came with it (instead of stock, which comes with a resonator in the sedans) as well as the performance mufflers. I'll try to get some more videos while I'm driving (sounds really mean when driving and when I shift theres a LOUD 'snap' 'bam' sound. LOTS OF GURGLING!!!! [u2b] [/u2b] [u2b] [/u2b] ENJOY!!! |
