Headlight Help

So my headlights wiring has been going downhill. Now it's to the point where I need to fix it for good. I was told I needed to replace both headlights and there was no other option. I have an 07 e92. Is this really the only option? I was quoted $2k for a set of oem headlights at cost. I can't really afford that right now. Anyone out there re-do wiring for this model year? I've been looking around the forum for sets of lights for sale so that's always an option too I guess. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about wiring that is inside the headlight? Are the xenon? Adaptive?

Yes sorry the wiring inside the unit. Currently the left angel eye is faintly visible. It corrects when I retape the wire.

Forgive my ignorance but I am not sure what lights they are. I do believe they have xenon bulbs. And the lights turn with my wheel...so adaptive?

I would contact OSS, ask them to do a refresh on your wiring and install some goodies while the headlights are taken apart. It'll cost you about $1k but it'll come back working and better than stock.

Can you post a picture of what your referring to. If its just 1 wire then perhaps you can cut out the bad section and spice in a new piece of wire. Are you sure the wire is bad or is it the bulb?

The AE is much more dim on the left. Sometimes it doesn't come on at all. However, it is brighter once I retaped the visibly loose wire. I do hope the angel still works as it is Lux! And I bought them not too long ago. My car is however throwing a "bulb" code that comes up when started. I figured that was bc of the wiring. A mechanic did tell me the wiring was going bad on my headlights about 6 months ago. Hopefully this helps. Will post pics later.

OSS sounds like a nice option. I will get in touch with them but hopefully there's an easier and less expensive option (third year med student living off loans lol).

If there is visibly a loose wire then it should be easy to repair it, without spending tons on a new headlight. Send me a PM once you get the pic posted up as well please

well that looks messy. Is it the yellow (+) or the brown(-) wire that is loose?

The brown wire was very loose. The yellow looks loose too. It's definitely a mess in there.

The car is throwing a bulb code on the dash every time I start the car now. When I retape, it will work for a few hours but it very dim then will not work at all. I guess my main concern/question is whether it's the angel eye itself or the headlight wiring is failing all together. I haven't had time to switch the bulbs from side to side.
