m3 spoiler gap/install question
well mine is on and looks great
BUT* my autobody guy really wanted to use his 3m tape instead for the install and he just used the corner pieces that the spoiler came with. then he used his own 3m tape (white 3m tape) for the long stripe in the middle of the spoiler. so now it looks great, but the back does have a slight gap..... for all of you that installed the spoiler, does yours have a gap or does it sit flush????????????? i mean mine looks great, but if the original tape that came with the kit is thinner, then this sux, becuase it would have been more flush... i also can't seem to find any close up pix of the m3 spoiler on an e92

I would like to know also if the tape BMW gives you is good enough, or should I go out by another type of 3M tape.
One question though, whats the clear sticky strip they give you and what do you do with it? |

i used the 3m gray tape with red backing that came with the m3 spoiler and it sits really nice. I mean if u get up really close and look, u will see a very slight gap and i mean slight. About the size of a hair! The M3 spoiler has an indent on the bottom where the tape goes so it sits flush.
The tape that came with it is holding up great for a little over a week now. You shouldn't have any problems with the tape that came with it as long as u prep the paint on the trunk and bottom of the spoiler well by removing all the wax that's on it. I could never figure out what those 2 clear sticky pieces were for... they are sitting in my garage until i figure it out, i think it might be to line up the spoiler properly |

mine is slightly higher than a hair, but i think thats cause he used his own 3m tape which may b thicker
but like u said u can't tell at all unless u are up really close, idk, i guess i will have to see some close up shots

I think mine sits pretty close. I used some 100 lbs double sided tape I found at Home Depot. It wasn't 3m but I forgot who its made by. So far so good!

hmmm well if any of you guys have close up shots i would love to see them, maybe even off the m3, cause i think there is a very slight gap on all these spoilers
