Ebay performance spoiler transaction went wrong. Need help.
Bought CF Performance Spoiler on ebay.
Paid on May 13 and ebay showed box was shipped on 14th. Item never showed up so I emailed seller on June 12. He said he'll send it ASAP. Waited a week and still no tracking. Opened up Paypal dispute on Jun 19. After dispute I get a tracking number. Item arrived on June 22 and its not performance spoiler. It was wrapped in bubble wrap and no adhesive or 3M tape(listing had adhesive AND 3M tape). Escalated to paypal and now paypal is telling me to ship it back with my own expense. Shipping cost is almost half of this spoiler. What can I do? Seller name is "lynnapples" |

Paid $149. He sent me lip spoiler and not performance spoiler.
Can I call my credit card company and dispute? will it backfire at me? Normally I would suck it up dont want to this time. I want this seller to pay. He lied twice and shipped wrong item to me. Now he won't reply to my emails and messages. |

Escalate it and just keep pounding at them and putting the blame on them for not vetting out their sellers and how you as a loyal customer got duped, etc. and that you have lost your trust in eBay now, blah blah blah. All of that should definitely get you some attention for sure and possibly a resolution. What I am going to say now is by no means a legal advise but just my opinion so use it at your own risk/knowledge: Yes, you can dispute it with your bank if you paid through a CC and tell them clearly what has happened including the fact that you paid for 1 and received a totally different item and that you have contacted the seller, etc. and no luck so you want to dispute it. Good luck! Keep us posted what happens. |

PayPal usually will take the side of the buyer, you just have to push it and further escalade it if anything. Lay it out exactly like you did here, state that shipping back is going to cost as much as half the cost of the spoiler. State the way the seller was responding, how they relayed false information your way about it being shipped out. You have the messages and tracking information forward all that to PayPal everything you throw at them helps at your case.
If anything I would agree with above and take it up with your CC Company, it shouldn't back fire, you may need to provide them with details about your purchase as it may just show as a simple PayPal transaction on their end. I honestly recommend keep fighting it i know where your coming from I've been screwed over by sellers for large priced items in the past and from experience if you keep pushing you'll get somewhere. Especially having the seller cover the return shipping due to their incompetence is one. I hope it all works out!

I only have option to enter tracking number of return package or cancel dispute at paypal homepage.
I've been talking/chatting and they are not helpful at all. I've called and sent in all the information and screenshots to my CC company. First time having issue with paypal and ebay. Ordered performance spoiler from different seller yesterday and got tracking information just now. I think hes out of stock on performance spoiler so he sent lip spoiler. Shipment date is June 19. Took him a whole month to ship out the spoiler. |

I've never done it myself but keep pursuing the Paypal dispute! Don't give up! Good luck and keep us updated!

If item is not as described, usually Paypal will find in your favor and you wouldn't have to deal w/ return shipping. Not always though, so if Paypal doesn't find in your favor, initiate a CC dispute and that's basically a guarantee to get your money back and not have to pay return shipping. Paypal doesn't like it, but since they're the ones that charge the ~3% CC fees, they're required to honor the terms of card issuers.

Wow bought performance spoiler from different seller and it took only 5 days to get here. It was wrapped with bubble wrap inside of cardboard box.
Sent all documents to card company(paypal invoice, ebay listing, explanation, picture of spoiler). Stay away from eBay Seller "lynnapples" He ships out spoiler in just bubble wrap(surprise my spoiler is not broke) with no 3M tape(listing lists 3m tape). Took him month to ship mine. I did ebay search by performance spoiler and listed by lowest price first. Hes listing was on top. |

can you not fedex it back to them and tell fedex to "bill the receiver" for it? That way you can enter the tracking number and have proof you sent it back but not be stuck with paying the shipping fees?

We dont have option to bill receiver.
How was ur fitment? Mine is little bit off. Also hard to find surface to attach 3m tape. Its barely attached using industrial 3m tape and one edge has lift/play. Taped over both side to let the tape do the work for 24 hrs. Dont think 3m double sided tape will hold 100mph. I paid 30 bucks at indy to get rid off scratches i made while attaching spoiler I may have to go back next week. |

This is really pissing me off.
I just watched Tara's youtube video of performance spoiler install. Her performance spoiler looks different from mine. She has flat bottom surface to attach double sided tapes but mine is just hollow. How do I attach this spoiler? So far I've spent about $50 on 4 rolls of 3M tapes and trip to local body shop to get rid of scratches. Last edited by techie182; 06-29-2014 at 08:59 PM.. |
