GP Thunder H8 bulbs from e-92lighting PROBLEM

Does anyone have experience with GP Thunder 7500k h8 angel eye bulbs? I bought a set and installed them yesterday and they are the exact same color as stock. 7500k is supposed to be bright white with a very slight hint of blue. I emailed e-92lighting telling them that I'm disappointed with these lights since they are not what I expected. I also said that by installing these lights, I voided my CPO warranty and did not get anything out of it, except for dimmer yellow lights. Any suggestions as to what I should do about this?

i'm fine with everything you just said but what do you mean it voided your CPO warranty? how did changing the bulbs void your warranty?

I know I worded that incorrectly. I meant it voided any warranty revolving around my lights. It did not void the entire CPO warranty.

Not true. Unless they can somehow prove that your aftermarket bulbs caused whatever the failure is, they can't void anything. Do some research on the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act. It's possible the dealer will still give you a hard time still, however.

They should be very obviously whiter. Are your GP bulbs the ones with the blue tint? I had these a while back and they aren't bad other than the fact that they aren't too bright - but you should definitely see the color difference.

Ya, good luck with that. Everybody loves to quote that act (from 1975 BTW). You take a sealed headlight system, cut the seal that says "do not open or your warranty is void", stuff some $18 bulbs ( or LUX for that matter) in there and when there's an issue with your xenons you're gonna wave that act in front of them and somehow "force" them to fix it free? Right.

Since you bought your car used is there a chance you already had GP Thunders already? Take a picture of your "stock" bulb outside of the car next to the new "GP thunder".

At any rate since you are this far you should probably look into our 40W H8 BMW LED Angel Eyes. I think you will be much happier with them anyway they are also about 1/2 the price of the competition and arguably just as bright.

This is a picture of them installed. The car was bought CPO from a BMW dealership. I doubt they would've let aftermarket bulbs be sold with a CPO car. They are yellow, not white. Not even close to white.

Fair enough.

I wouldn't give too much credit to "CPO". I worked at a dealer for 4 years. It's just marketing. They put modified cars on the lot all the time that are "CPO" and many times they do miss a few things in their 100+ point inspection too.

I can assure you are 40 watt option will not be the stock brown that's for sure.

Real Picture from a Real Customers Car with HPB's watermark. As a customers picture it's not perfect. The inner light does look washed out. However, this is not what it looks like in person in regards to being washed out. We dont fudge our pictures like our competitors do to find the ideal image. That's why we like showing a real customers picture.

a)you didn’t void anything.

b) contact them telling them you need an exchange for something more white or blue(whatever you’re looking for) and send them pictures of what they send you vs what they advertise. Telling them you are disappointed wont to anything you have to state a request, they will do right and send you a new pair…at least it worked for me.

i got the 8500k bulbs from GP thunder on amazon for $10. i think LEDs are a good choice but the price is so high for the same results in the day. at night im using my Xenon headlights which overpower the angel eyes so it doesnt matter how bright they are at night.

There's no way they're going to void a whole headlamp warranty over an H8 bulb swap. And my car didn't have any sort of seal that needed cutting to do a bulb swap.

A bulb swap is routine maintenance, and voiding a component warranty over proper routine maintenance wouldn't fly.

Well mine were most certainly sealed with that tamper-proof tape you see on some electronics. My wife's X5 is too.

There are plenty of dealers that wouldn't care at all. I'm just saying that they certainly could make an issue out of it since, if the car is under warranty you would have no reason to open them and do anything yourself.

If that same security sticker was on any other product and you opened it, would you assume that your warranty was intact?

Is that an actual photo of your car? A regular gp thunder 8500k halogn bulb? Looks really good.

Taken with an iPhone in a garage for both pictures.

Thank you sir. This is the truth. Go to another dealer that is less of a prick

My dealers are very mod and aftermarket friendly- even installing two sets of aftermarket fogs for me.

Have you considered an LED or HID solution?

I think the whole discussion of warranty is irrelevant. You decided to mod the car, and change them, therefore you should own up to issues. If they came out as expected, there would not be a concern over this whole "CPO" nonsense.

As far as the color is concerned, I have the GP thunders 7500k, and I can say that my bulbs do not look that yellow. You may have received defective bulbs, or an issue with the voltage coming through to the socket.
