E92 Interior LED Conversion
I only just bought my E92 a couple of weeks back, and straight away started thinking of things I could change and tweek. The first to come to mind was the interior lighting.
I did a bit of research and hunted around to see what was available and realised that buying the LEDs separately would work out a load cheaper than buying a kit. I ended up buying: 10x T10 LED (Map lights, domes, front footwells, doors) 10x T5 LED (4 required for rear footwell) 2x 42mm Festoon (1 required for trunk) 1x 39mm Festoon (Glovebox) I didn't bother changing the vanity lights (never use them) Total cost £20 I'm not going to give an installation walkthrough this can be found here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=273231 thanks to yamazaho. Total installation time was about 20 minutes. Last edited by LTDarklord; 06-30-2014 at 03:00 PM.. |

The blue makes it look a bit... I don't know, riced out? Just my opinion, everyone has different taste!

Yeah know what you mean, I've actually got a white set in the garage as well so have the option of changing them.

blue lights make it harder to see and I read harmful on the eyes, white would look good especially with your aluminum trim

tbh i'm not worried about how easy it is to see etc, I don't do a daily commute (and probs never will) or school run in it. It's purely for fun and aesthetics.

A while back when we started testing and making led interior kits and trying out all the options to find the most output and highest quality chips I ended up testing out Red, Amber, Blue and of course white with High Performance Bulbs.
The amber in real life was the easiest on the eyes and so was red. Blue was ok but it hurt my eyes too much. I ended up sticking with white though as a crisp clean look as well as visibility was important to me. The pictures are a little exaggerated on actual brightness. |

Lol my camera makes the lights look a lot brighter than they really are.. and the lights are only on when I get in/out.

Call me weird, but I actually like the yellow from the stock light bulbs. It's got a nice warmth to it. White LEDs just seem too bland.
