Help! Cup holder stuck

I have an 07 328i. Today i pushed my driver cup holder into the dash just like i normally do when i'm finished with my drink. As I pushed it in though something didn't feel right. I immediately pushed it to come back out but it was stuck. I cant get it to come back out of the dash now. I searched but couldn't find anything. Anyone else have this happen to them? Any info would be great. Thanks in advance

Garage List
I had this happened to me. However, I have a few wires behind there so the cup holder was getting caught and not letting it slide out. Just take it apart and try to readjust. Pull the trim (just pops out) and unscrew the cup hold (2 screws) and see what it could be. If when you screw it in again, just test it out and see if it slides out easily before reinstalling trim. I have a feeling somethings just stuck on the sliding mechanism. GL.

Failure of this part is fairly common. The cup holder is pulled out by a wound up spring, which can break loose from the plastic housing.

Once it breaks, the cup holder just sits in there and won't come out. Check this from the DIY section:
