Tire sizes for 19x9 et 35 and 19x10.5 et45 setup

Going to pickup a set of Velgen VMB5s for my E92 335 xDrive on stock suspension.

Going to go with either Conti Extreme DW or Hankoon V12s and was recommended 235/35/19 fronts and 265/30/19s rears. Im worried that the tires will be too stretched given the 10.5 rear rim.

Should I go up to 245 front and 275 rears and do you guys think that would fit?

That setup^ isn't best for xdrive, it's over the recommended 1% limit.
235/35/19 and 275/30/19 is way better solution. Should fit just fine. The wheel will extend to same place as 9.5 et32 which is pretty much the vendor recommended rub free setup.

I would use 245/35/19 and 285/30/19.

Another vendor recommended 245/40/19 and 275/35/19. Any thoughts on this? Everyone seems to have a bit of a different opinion.

That's totally wrong size. The aspect ratio is too high. Those would belong to 18 inch wheels. With those sizes you are going to rub for sure.

This car has 19x9 and 19x10.5 with 235/35/19 and 275/30/19 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=933463

Okay thanks for the feedback....seems to be a lot of misinformation out there.

Will 235/35/19 and 275/30/19 setup rub in the back? I definitely don't want to roll my fenders.

It shouldn't, because for example 19x9.5 et35 with 265/30/19 is the vendor recommended problem free rear setup and 19x10.5 et45 is only 3mm more aggressive and rear tyre is slightly more stretched than 265 at 9.5.

245 and 285 is almost a perfect match and I don't think you'd rub even with that. Most people use 265 on a 9.5" wheel since your rear wheel is 1" wider you can use a tire that is 1" wider. Unless you want some stretch which isn't necessary for those offsets.

MonacoBlueE90, was told by the manufacturer that 235/35/19 and 275/30/19 would have a bit of stretch but 245/35/19 and 285/30/19 would be a perfect fit and would fit with no rubbing. How do you tell if a certain setup will be compatible with the xDrive system?

Use the tyre size calculator on top of the page. Tyre diameter difference needs to be under 1% for xdrive. Closer to zero is better. Always compare front and rear tyres to each other.

Example
ORIGINAL TYRES 245/35/19
NEW TYRES 285/30/19

Percent difference -0.076%

235/35/19 and 275/30/19 has 0.077% difference.

Some have reported that 245/35/19 rubs at front, but only when doing full lock turns, reversing or to that oil cooler vent basically in "weird" cases. Then again some have zero issues.

I have 245/35/19 up front with no rubbing on an 8.5" wheel and the sidewall looks like this | | The tires are Hankooks

265/30 is hardly a stretch with 10.5 inch rears. While 275 may be desired, I think 265 is fine. Let me see if I can grab a pic I just mounted 265 hankooka on a 10.5

The first two pictures are on 275 PSS, the last one is one 265 PSS. Rear wheels are 19x10.5 et 32. I have enough space to fit 285s, but my rear fenders are rolled and pulled.

Thanks for the response guys! Looks like I can go either 265 or 275 on the rears. Will let you know what I decide and post some pics.

JaysBlueE92, would you mind posting a pic if you have one kicking around?

These are 265/35/18's on 10.5 inch TE37sl's. Don't mind the tire wear, I just bought this set used and new tires will be going on.
