Where would you start first.

For all of those that have modded their cars and had it all to do again where would you start first?

i would say wheels/tires before an LSD you can be sticky enough without one till new turbos unless your really trying to shave off time at the strip. I want an LSD but everytime i go to get one there is something else i would rather spend 2k on. (after install) and i really want 3.73 gearing and its HARD to find for this car.

I have to strongly disagree on this one. LSD was my last mod and I can honestly say it should've been one of the first. Sticky tires such as my NT555R were not good enough for FBO+Meth. I would still lose traction in 2nd gear going straight not to mention trying to power into turns without LSD is terrible. No offense but you clearly don't take your car to the track/strip if you think wheels/tires are more important than LSD. It's a night/day difference and completely transforms the car in terms of handling and launching.

Now that I have an LSD, I deadhook from a dig and I can go WOT on turns.

Tires are very important as well, of course, however I would still put LSD before tires.

hmmm.. I have not tracked my car but once while it was not as heavily modded, and i do drag. I understand what you are saying I have still not pulled the trigger on an LSD for this car, i was just going off of other LSD setups. I guess i will kindly retract my statement, you feel very solid about this. Ill have to add that to my list after these turbos.

Trust me it's one of the best mod's I've done to this car besides a tune. I let my girlfriend drive the other day and she was shocked when she went WOT. All she kept saying was "wow I don't feel scared pushing it anymore, the car feels so stable". lol

Looking back at the list I gave, I'd probably move tires up in the list because I can't even remember what it's like to drive on non-DR.

Tune>DCI>LSD>M3 Subframe Bushings>Downpipes>Tires>Coilovers>Meth>Intercoole r>Swaybar

Thanks. I have had the car for a year now and am enjoying the car as it is stock and learning all I can about the platform before jumping in with mods. My goal is really basic to be honest with you. A little bit of exterior (CSL Rims and slight drop) and a smidgen of extra performance (cobb tune, FMIC, dinan intake, bmw perfor exh and LSD).

Fine list, but -- for the coin -- you can do a lot better than a Dinan intake and BMW performance exhaust.

Gotcha. I just like the look of the dinan intake.
