how long does it take to get a production date?
I ordered the car on saturday this past weekend, later that day I got a production number. So far whenever I call the 800 number it just tells me "you're car has been confirmed for production with no date yet"
how long did you all have to wait to get a date??? |

I ordered mine on 10/10/2007 and it took about a week or so before it hit production. Right now it's In Transit.

I think it can vary significantly depending on what car you are getting, and whether you can be slipped into the queue based on a car your dealer has already ordered for their inventory. I was in production in about a week because my dealer just changed the options on a car they already had ordered and in the queue. I was ordering a 335xi, and I think they order a ton of those here in New England.

yeah my dealer changed the options on a car they already had in the queue. She said I should expect an early/mid december delivery. Had I not jumped on that one car to change (that day), I would have been looking at a january delivery (she claims). I guess it was the very last day before the order started processing?

I wound up buying in Darien. I went to Bridgeport and they seemed a little out of control (maybe because of the remodelling), and didn't have any 335s to drive, and after waiting a while to drive the one 328 with manual that was already on a test drive, I gave up and asked him to call me when he had a 335 for me to drive (he never did call). A week later I scheduled a test drive at Darien (drove a couple) and wound up buying the car there. Briddgeport is closer to home, but Darien is not far. Not sure yet where I will bring my car for service.
