Get the JB4, Weishaus. It's more bang for the buck and you can run E85 on it easy! But Cobb does have the ease of installation/use.

I like the JB4 because of all the gauge hacks, but I'm scared of it failing. Plus I like the idea of flashing back to stock easily. But I appreciate the input!

Get both! That's what I had and it was the best combo. Sold the JB4 as I had to take it out when taking my care in to the dealer for new turbos. Still have the Cobb though

you can buy used V2s for $400 if you look around. Also, never pay the new retail price. The vendors all will price match and go much lower. At least they would on the V2s when they were new.

As far as JB4 it's good, the Cobb is just super user friendly and with JB4 you still need/want a back end flash.

I thought the Cobb only gets you to 350hp or so from stock, while the JB4 supposedly puts you close to 400hp?

Why's the JB4 need a back end flash too, I thought they were supposed to be a standalone product?

The cobb OTS maps are weak and the JB4 stock vs. stock I think will put out more aggressive numbers. With a flash the car should be better than what the JB4 can do alone. That being said JB4 has some fun features that people like.

You can flash for 'free' with a cable which some local members have or you can buy your own for like $180 i think. Or the Cobb can load flashes.

"Previously the JB4 back end flash has been mainly for highly modified cars. But now that it's free they are working on pump gas versions as well. For pump gas it basically allows them to program in boost curves that are a lot fatter down low as there is no longer a fuel trim limitation at lower RPM. It's also easier to reshape the advance curve on the flash side than using CPS which they never felt comfortable doing more than 4-5 degrees with. The VANOS changes, speed limiter delete, and some other tuning tricks also make it a worthwhile way to spend an hour or two loading."

I have cobb on both of my cars but I have considered running JB4 + a backend flash recently.

I can go into more detail but I gotta get some work done.

I can say first hand that (excluding a Protune) JB4 + back end flash >> Cobb OTS maps. I had Stage 2+ OTS map which was nice. Took everything off then decided to give the JB4 + Burger back end flash (through my Cobb AP)... with just that tune alone, it was about as fast as stage 2. I have no Dyno info to back it up but I'd be willing to bet that JB4 Map 5 with E40 + the back end flash would be as fast as S2+ ots map.

OP, let us know how your search ends up. Curios to hear what you find and what you pay.

Good luck with your search!

Thanks for sharing. I originally emailed that guy and offered him $425 but he said no.
