Remap 320d LCI?
I own a 320d 2010 efficient dynamics 163bhp which I have had for a couple of years. my budget doesnt allow me to stretch for a 6 cylinder equivalent especially with the recent house purchase. I am contemplating getting my car remapped I was just wondering has anyone had their 320d ed 163 remapped and what gains did they achieve. I know that these models are not supposed to be remapped due to it being a actual efficient dynamics model and not being the standard 184bhp equivalent. Would I feel a big difference in power I am not bothered about losing a few mpg for the sake of extra power. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Hi, I also have the "ed" model and have looked into remaps. According to Celtic Tuning this model can safely achieve an increase of 80bhp and an extra 70lb/ ft torque!! Bear in mind that this model has 280 ft/lb as standard, which is more than the the 177bhp variant but the same as the newer 184bhp model. Seems like decent gains, but I need mine for reliability and above all economy and am currently averaging 65.2 mpg at an average speed of 48.7 mph.
One of the guys at my work has a 318d remapped and the other a 177bhp e92 and both say my car pulls better than theirs and that is before any remap! I have no idea if Celtic tuning are any good, this is just an example of what you could expect to achieve. Please let me know if you decide to remap as I would be keen to see how it affects the drive of the car. |
