193M w/non run flats?!

So I was at Costco and out of curiosity, I wanted to see what brands they carried. Dude at the tire shop said that my wheels were designed for only run flat tires? Any truth to this? Is anyone else on non-RFT's with the 193M's?

Dude is full of shit. Use whatever tire you like (please select the proper size for your wheels)...the trick will be finding a shop to install non-RFT's, as a lot of shops won't install them on cars that come with RFT from the factory (like ours).

I've run non run flat tires on my 193s when I ran stock. Non Run flats actually ran a lot better than my crappy potenzas'

Yea he doesn't know what he's talking about. You can put non-runflats on those wheels without any issue. Heck I have 193ms and am running non-runflats without any issue.

I am currently running 193's w/ Michelin PSS's. Absolutely love the set up over the stock crapstone RFT's.

You will be fine w/ non-runflats. Most guys here prefer the non-runflats over the RFT's.

Go back and tell him to just walk away from the tires. Non-RFTs > RFTs. Not wheel specific. Even with RFTs, you would have to consider towing / spare if you had a blowout/flat, so carry on. I bought the 5 series compact spare kit for long trips.

Seriously, the guy at Costco knows but obviously read the op as a wheel and tire noob. Which by the info in this thread he was right. And was trying to sell a more expensive tire / less stressful tire to the OP.

Op you can run Non-runflats but run the risk of getting a nail or flat and being stranded. Non runflats are more ride friendly and handle better but no room for a spare tire unless your trunk is empty and you want to buy one.
