Bmw's website. In the accessories I think it was. Maybe get the part number and then get a price from a dealer that does forum discount

How much is the manual gaiter?
Yes you can see the position on the dash but mine goes from P to D and that's where it normally stays till I park up so don't even really need to know, however there are only a finite amount of positions it can be in so after you have used the car for a while you get to know where all the potions are like second nature so you don't really need any visual cue's.

The cheapest I have seen for the manual gaiter is £38.60 from Harry Fairbairn BMW using their 15% discount offer. Its about £47 from BMW direct on ebay. Compared to the auto gaiter which is £70.13 from Harry Fairbairn BMW and about £85 from BMW Direct on ebay.

Does the manual gaiter have the half leather to match the shifter? Doesn't look like it on your picture. Does it flow ok without it?

Also is your handbrake gaiter fixed to the handle, I prefer my M-sport handle but like the performance gaiter

The manual gaiter is fully alcantara the auto gaiter is leather and alcantara.

I cant comment on the action yet as I dont have the gaiter yet just the m performance gear knob with standard gaiter and m performance handbrake . The picture I posted up is from an american chap TeinBMW who has already done this so was thinking to do the same as I like the look.

The handbrake gaiter is separate to the handle so you can use the msport one if you like.

Oooo i want that performance knob and gaitor.

Surely it wouldnt cost as much to get someone to copy the leather gaitors in alacantra?

Its not so much the design of the knob, its the bloody length of it...wish it was shorter (LOL!)

Sorry, but I cannot understand the idea of going for performance shifter if you cannot afford the rest of the parts. If you wish to do it, then do it properly otherwise leave it alone.
It makes your shifter even worst than standard shifter IMO.

Thats cool Sam and thats your opinion, personally for me I can afford either of the m performance gaiters but I personally like the look of the manual gaiter with the auto shifter so may just order that but havent decided 100% yet.

Unless your comment was directed at the person who said to have one made up in alcantara from the original leather parts.. in which I'll shut up now
