I think you could technically make a 335i do that with the right upgrades and mods but there'll always be that mental block... it's still not an ///M!

Ofcourse if you throw enough money at a 335i you can make it do that, infact throw enough money at any car you can pretty much get any sort of performance you want. I came across a rusty Fiat Punto recently that was glued to the rear bumper of my 335i all the way through 2/3rd gear with my going WOT.
I think the point some people seem to have missed is that stock the 335i is simply not a good drivers car, let alone any where a M3. I've had to pretty much replace the entire suspension set up and add a LSD to get my 335i's handling to a point where I'm happy with it. It would have been much cheaper/easier if I had just bought a M3 in the first place, but my wife put a stop to that so I had no choice but get a 335i and try to make it handle better. I think your find most people who have owned a modified 335 will tell you that a M3 is simply better (my self included), so I'm not entirely just who is 'debating' the 335i vs M3 issue, in my mind there is no debate, never has been and never will be. |

Great vid - seen it before. But going by the amount of oil that engine's burning I'd say a rebuild is on the horizon...

If you were going to race a car you'd probably not start with a 335 when an M3 is available because there's less to do on the M3 to make it do what you need. I don't doubt someone could make a 335 better around a course like that than an M3.
