Leavin for the P-cars...
Well that was fun...Have been looking for something bigger than the F30 I've got currently since the addition of the infant seat in the back makes the passenger side front seat have to be moved all the way forward, thereby losing that seat too. I also haven't been very happy with the F30 in general, too many squeaks and groans from what sounds like poor craftmanship and a suspension that's just too "floaty" for me.
So after a lot of research online, decided on either a new Porsche Cayenne GTS or a year-old Cayenne Turbo. Yesterday, my wife and I went to the Porsche dealership to take a look around with the baby in her carrier and it happened....My wife's jaw was literally hanging open as she saw the new Macan. Just for reference, she drives a Hyundai Veloster now that she loves and we've been talking about getting her something bigger and safer like the RR Evoque. She was reluctantly coming around to the Evoque but this was different. She just stood by the Macan with a huge smile on her face. The sales guy's smile was even bigger cuz he knew he didn't have to say word... We left the dealership to give it a few days to think it over. Her Veloster lease still has a year on it and I was planning on returning her Veloster and getting my Cayenne but that doesn't look like it'll be happening! Matching Porsches....Crap....We're gonna be THOSE people..... |

aka, the typical Northern VA family. There's some neighborhoods I've been in where I swear the local HOA mandates that residents need to have at least one Cayenne in the driveway or garage.
A lot of people around here have them though for a reason, they're good cars. I've also read nothing but great things about the Macan. |

My mom just got a new Macan S... Fricking AMAZING car. Handles SO well. The interior is bang on.
Honestly, an insanely good car.

Not a bad move at all. Post pics when you get it.

I just walked out of dealership looking at a Cayman S today. I am debating between it and the m2 but once you caught the pcar bug I don't think there's a cure. There's something special about a purpose focused car like 2 seater Porsches, Elises and the likes. While I don't like the Cayenne and Panamera I do have to say the Macan is spot on

I also picked up a 15 Macan S after having ordered it back in December. Amazing freaking car, feels like a 911 with a lift kit. My dad also has a 14 GTS, and getting out of the Macan and into the GTS feels like I am driving a UHaul truck.

Have been thinking long and hard about the Macan S as well. I wonder how much I'd miss the pull of my piggybacked 135? Regardless, very tempting.
Congrats, OP!

Ditched my 135 for a 991S a couple of months ago and I'm even more pleased than I thought I would be.
Planning on adding a Cayenne or Macan to the stable as well at some point.

I would also consider the face-lifted Cayenne if you ever plan on expanding your family in the near future. 2 young kids with all their stuff can take up a lot of space.
