absolutely recommend it - its very noticeable - did it on my 2011 328i xdrive, and the shifts from 1 to 2 are noticeably smoother because the car is no longer delaying the release of clutch - its responding to my command (what a concept!) this, along with switching to non-run flat tires on that car are a must - hope jump into coilovers soon as well - I didn't do this myself though - bought the Zeckhausen valve replacement and paid a shop in Boston to do this, about 90 dollars for labor and the $25 part from Zeckhausen racing

The only PITA is disconnecting the front drive shaft to get to the CDV.
The how to there has the guy holding the shaft with a pry bar, or whatever you can wedge to make the shaft not spin, but you can use like an electric impact wrench to spin the fasteners out. Highly recommend removing the CDV. |

There's nothing to it, it's really just a tube of plastic.

Driveshaft wasn't difficult to remove at all. I didn't use an impact because my torx sockets weren't impact grade.
Longest part of the job was bleeding the clutch. I spent more time researching how long/difficult it would be to remove the CDV than the job takes. Just do it! Last edited by critical05; 08-07-2014 at 01:24 PM.. |

True, I was going to go with the M3 one, but ended up getting the BMS one with my large order.

My local shop spent 45min including bleeding of the valve (the mechanic did quite a few at that place) to replace it with a "modified" one. My only thought after install was ... why I didn't do that sooner !
