Coilover Install Guidance

So I haven't post in a pretty long time BUT the question I have at hand is whether or not I should install coils prior to making a trip to socal and I'm coming from the Bay. I leave thursday the 21st and I was hoping to put them on the 18th (Monday). Would it be better to install before going so I could use the trip to settle the coils or should I just wait till i get back?
